Whether or not the attribution of specific artists plus type beat is associated with it or not.Most of the time when I go to make any type instrumental I am looking for the elements of what makes the beat stand out.If I removed the attribution of associated with any of the beats that I have produced nobody would know where my inspiration came from.I don’t believe in completely copying the music that has inspired me. That is never my goal.
My focus is to place myself right there in the studio with an influential rapper.Here I am creating a more creative mindset to see what type of instrumentals I could make if I had been commissioned to do so. I Can this is a popular Rick Ross type beat. It was inspired by Lord Knows which featured Drake and Rick Ross.
That beat was made by one of my favourite hip hop producers Just Blaze.My I Can beat takes influence from the Gospel hip hop and old school beats with the drums taking a more modern live event approach.The baseline and the drums are the backbones of the beat giving the rapper a triumphant direction.While the instrumentation poses for the purpose of hype and energy, which help feed the lyrics to the rap artist. Freestyle Freedom this is a more modern approach to a neo-soul type beat.Inspired by the music producers that make modern hip hop beats that are un-sampled but sound like they have been chopped from a record.I feel that this particular instrumental is more of a J Cole type beat. Taking inspiration from J Coles the last album I feel that I wanted to make something a rap artist could become a storyteller.Not every rap song needs or requires a hook. Sometimes I feel that if the rapper has good lyrics and brings the listener on a journey with them, the song no longer requires catchy repetitious lines.This beat has a nice blend of a soul which bleeds from the saxophone intro.Combined with vinyl crackles, harsh organ stabs and simple boom bap drum pattern guiding the lyricist through the bars of the beat.. Daydream is a cut from the Drake type beat cloth. Again this has a freestyle beat element to the instrumental.Throwing the lyricist deep into storytelling lyrics.
I can hear Drake influences from the lonely piano accompanied by a simple of kilter boom-bap drum pattern.To give this beat an old school vibe, I filtered a the piano and played around with a number of reverb effects.Giving the beat a more old school 90’s sound but still having the Drake More Life feel. Similar to that of a rap artist rapping about his or her past.Again I opted out for adding a hook in this beat to keep the sole focus on the rap artists lyrics.But there are breaks and middle 8’s that would suit a female vocal or a female vocal sample. Similar to Drake’s “Marvins Room” instrumental. Turn Up is an instrumental that has a dark commercial trap vibe. This instrumental is very current.I think the angle I was going for with this instrumental is along the lines of a Migos type beat or a Nick Minaj type beat.The instrumental is very casual, confident and hypnotic.One the offset it sounds rather repetitious, with very little instrumentation.But when you are trying to make trap beats in style of Nicki Minaj or The Migos you have to find a very simple hook that rap artist can mould into their own creation. Love Child this stems from a synth piano sample that I got from one of DJ Pain 1 beat making Friday sample pack.

At that time I feel that Drake and Pusha’s beef was a hot topic. SoI decided to make a Pusha Type Beat.It starts with an eerie echo piano chord structure.These piano chords have been heavily processed with reverb and delay.I also added a percussive element which sounds like an ethnic wooden spoon played in double time. This is also heavily processed with reverb and delay.The drums take on a very simple boom bap drum pattern and the baseline teases in and out of the loop, leaving a beautiful piccolo melody dancing in the background of the instrumental. Shakin That is a club trap type beat. Sometimes when trap beats are popular on the first listen I just don’t understand why people are hooked.Taking, for example, two of Tyga’s Biggest hit “Rack City” and “Taste”.Both have a very casual trap drum pattern and very little instrumentation.This was the vibe I was going for in this Shakin that Instrumental.More along the line of a Tyga type beat. I wanted to see what I could do with a very basic 808 drum pattern, mixed with chopped female vocals and simple bell-like melody.The result is a very confident summertime club track. Very radio friendly.
Short sweet and catchy. Open Up this instrumental stemmed from my inspiration from Bryson Tiller. I am a big fan of his movement by branding his music trap soul. I think it’s genius.While this new sound which is really just a mixture of trap and rnb elements combined with Tiller’s vocals makes for a winning formula. I wanted to create a Bryson Tiller type beat that not only had the trap soul element but had real commercial appeal.There are a couple of very simple elements in my Open Up instrumental that provide the air needed for both rap artist and a singer. The backbone of the song is the pad chords.The pad sound fills the beat with an atmosphere without distracting the singer’s vocals.
As the beat progresses the drum’s don’t really take on a trap sound but more of modern rnb sound which works better.The addition of vocal chops, and very hidden melodies to give more energy to the hook when the singer in singing. The baseline also provides a backdrop to guide the vocals of the singer. While I don’t agree with every he says or does outside of music, his music continues to evolve.Here I wanted to create something very abstract. Something doesn’t really know where it’s going or has any true structure.The 808 baseline twists and turns in beat which gives me the same vibe along the line of a Kanye type beat or School boi q type beat.Taking inspiration from their collaboration on the “That Part” Instrumental. If you feel that you are a rap artist that doesn’t sing but would like beats without a hook, this beat is for you. Say To Me is an instrumental that I created more of the style of a Rihanna type beat. Similar to that of a pop rnb type instrumental.Here I completely deviating away from the more common trap sound.Making a beat that isn’t really made for a rapper but a singer.When I created this beat I wanted to make an instrumental that was similar to the pop record that Rihanna had with Rehab which featured Justin Timberlake.There is more of ego in my pop type beat as I can showcase my instrumentation more.Compared to my more modern trap beats have very little instrumentation so that the rapper can take centrefold.
Zone 6 This goes back to Drake and Future’s collaboration album What A Time To Be Alive.Here in this instrumental, I put my mindset in the same vibe that came from that album. Sparking creativity, I set out to make a Future type beat.Inspired by the production of Metro Boomin here I created a string of instrumentals that have very quick 808 baselines powered by very catchy melodies.The verses are wide open here a hip hop artists that would like to make a hype anthem. If I just named my music a generic beat name nobody would find it. Not any more. There 2 sampled beats on my are the only sampled beats left on the website. I only kept them up there to show hip hop artists I can still sample records.But due to promotion restrictions and almost losing my Youtube Channel because of sampled beats and remixes. I no longer use un licensed sampled in my beats.Any beat that sound sampled is heavily processed to give an old school boom bap style.
